Orlando, FL — The Shift: A Choreographers Showcase returns this August for an electrifying evening of contemporary dance, featuring innovative works by emerging and established choreographers from across Central Florida. Presented by Emotions Dance Company, this dynamic performance highlights the diverse voices shaping today’s dance landscape.
Performances will take place at ME Theatre (1300 La Quinta Drive, Orlando, FL) on Friday, August 29, 2026 at 7:30 PM and Saturday, August 30, 2026 at 5:00 PM.

The Shift is designed as a platform for both emerging and established artists to present original choreography in an intimate, audience-centered setting. The performance features a compelling mix of styles, perspectives, and creative risk-taking—offering audiences an opportunity to experience fresh, boundary-pushing work that reflects the innovation and diversity of the region’s dance community.
Each piece in the program brings a unique point of view, creating an ever-evolving evening of performance that is both thought-provoking and visually engaging.

Emotions Dance Company is a nonprofit contemporary dance organization dedicated to creating and presenting work that explores social, environmental, and human-centered themes through movement. Through performances, community programming, and collaborative partnerships, the company seeks to make dance accessible, relevant, and impactful.
