New Leadership Announced at ADRC
Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center Welcomes Derwin Anderson as New Executive Director
ORLANDO, Fla. – July 8, 2025
The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center (ADRC), a respected nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families and care partners impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, is pleased to announce the appointment of Derwin Anderson as its new Executive Director.
A visionary nonprofit leader with over two decades of experience, Anderson brings a track record of revitalizing organizations, guiding them through complex transitions, and restoring community trust. He has led multiple turnarounds across the nonprofit sector by aligning mission with strategy, strengthening teams, and amplifying impact through relationship-building and collaborative leadership.
For Anderson, this work is deeply personal. As a former caregiver to his grandmother—who likely lived with undiagnosed dementia—he has witnessed firsthand the challenges families face when navigating cognitive decline without adequate resources. This personal experience, along with his undergraduate degree in Gerontology from the University of South Florida, has fueled a passion and commitment to dignified aging and accessible care for all.
“I’m honored and humbled to lead ADRC into its next season of growth, connection, and impact,” said Anderson. “This is more than a role—it’s a calling. I’m excited to build meaningful relationships, partnerships, and initiatives throughout Central Florida and beyond, ensuring caregivers have the support they need every step of the way.”
Anderson steps into leadership as ADRC launches “Guide to Greatness,” a bold multi-year initiative focused on caregiver empowerment, arts and wellness programming, brain health education, and expanded outreach.
“Derwin Anderson is exactly the kind of leader ADRC needs at this moment,” said Rob Herzog, Board Chair of ADRC and Vice President of Research Operations at AdventHealth. “His leadership experience, personal compassion, and strategic insight will help us grow and sustain the essential work ADRC has been doing for over four decades.”
The community will be invited to meet Anderson throughout Summer 2025 and in events we are planning for the fall.
