The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens, established in 1961, preserves the legacy of renowned Czech-American sculptor Albin Polasek. Located in Winter Park, FL, the museum features Polasek’s home, studio, and over 200 of his works, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors are inspired by Polasek’s journey from immigrant to celebrated artist and his determination to create monumental works even after facing physical challenges. The museum also houses the historic 1885 Capen House and hosts the annual Winter Park Paint Out Plein Air Festival, showcasing a dedication to art and culture.
Role Function
Responsible for maintaining professional standards of financial management and accounting, insurance policies, and employee benefit plans for the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens. Supports the institution’s mission and its policies and procedures.
Responsibilities

The Finance Coordinator may delegate, as appropriate, certain aspects of those responsibilities.
- Maintains the Museum’s general ledger including preparation or review of monthly adjusting entries.
- Oversees preparation of Museum payroll and maintenance of vacation and sick leave records.
- Oversees preparation of W-2’s and payroll tax returns.
- Oversees all bank account transactions, reconciles or reviews monthly bank reconciliation, and transfers funds.
- Prepares monthly financial reports for CEO/Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Assists CEO/Executive Director in preparation of annual budget and supporting schedule.
- Coordinates year-end audit by independent CPA’s. Prepares all audit schedules, drafts of financial statements, notes, trial balances, etc as required for audit.
- Prepares Federal and State tax returns as required including income tax, sales and property tax returns as required
- Maintains compensation and oversees benefits programs for full time employees.
- Maintains new and established employee files.
Relationships
- CEO/EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: Responsibility flows downward from the Museum CEO/Executive Director to the Finance Coordinator.
- DEPARTMENT HEADS: Works hand in hand with Department Heads on projects and assist when needed.
- BOARD OF DIRECTORS: Works with board treasurer regarding financial reporting
- MUSEUM STAFF: Works with Polasek team to create the best guest & member experiences possible.
- GRANT COORDINATOR: Works with contracted grant writer on gathering and organizing financial reports for grant applications
Salary Range
$26 - $30 per hour
Details & Qualifications
- In-person on-site, 15-18 hours per week on average
- Quickbooks certification is preferable, but Quickbooks experience is a must.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Must be willing to take a background check.
