Her life and career choices have been driven by her passion to create environments that influence improved outcomes for all children. She believes the key to growing stronger communities is to invest heavily\, and with clear intent\, on building healthy\, confident\, and above all else\, kind children.\n\n \n\nMaryann attended Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville\, then proceeded overseas to graduate from Tehran American School. She returned to the United States to complete a dual bachelor's degree in Psychology and Biology from Marymount College. She later attended graduate school in Alabama to complete master's study in both Women's Studies and Educational Psychology. She joined the University's Ph.D. program in Human Development and is published in the fields of child welfare and substance abuse treatment.\n\n \n\nOver the course of her 36-year career\, Maryann has focused sharply on improving quality of life issues for women and children. She has served communities in New York\, Germany\, Louisiana\, Alabama\, Washington\, D.C.\, and Florida.
