Ms. Bernat is passionate about ensuring that today's Winter Park Library evolves into a central learning force and is partnering with local nonprofits and businesses to elevate education and provide access to high quality resources and services to the community.\n\n \n\nMs. Bernat has 15 years of library experience and has been at various times a children's librarian\, data analyst\, outreach coordinator\, communications facilitator\, website designer and educational director. After joining the Library as Assistant Director in 2015\, Ms. Bernat shaped the Library's expansion of classes and events\, digital services\, and community outreach.  She participated in the 2016 Aspen Institute Dialogue on Public Libraries to advance new ideas and meet community challenges.\n\n \n\nAfter being selected as the Library's Executive Director in December 2019\, Ms. Bernat worked closely with city staff and the architectural team on the interior planning of the new library\, which opened in December 2021. In addition to her work locally\, she sits on the Florida Library Association's Communications Committee. She is a graduate of Leadership Winter Park Class 27 and has volunteered with the Chamber's Youth Leadership program since 2016.
