DESCRIPTION:Thurston House B&B is proud to welcome Chef Catherine Delrieu to our kitchen for an evening of good food and fun on Tuesday\, April 25\, 2023. Join us for an interactive cooking class and dinner. Chef Catherine will demonstrate special techniques for both savory entrees and sweet desserts done with a French flair. These intimate culinary events are part of our Culinary Vacations programs offered to guests of the inn. Others are invited to sign up as long as long as space remains available (limited to 8). Call us at 407-539-1911 to reserve your space.\n\n\n\nFrench chef\, Catherine Delrieu\, a native of Paris\, has thrived in culinary pursuits for over 40 years. Having also studied in Paris\, she later owned restaurants in both Paris and Rouen. In 2014\, Catherine came to Florida and opened a French bakery and coffee shop on Park Avenue in Winter Park.\n\n \n\nMany of you know her for her scrumptious quiches\, croissants\, and pastries at several local farmers' markets\, but did you know that she is an award-winning dessert chef? In 2017\, the Orlando culinary community was challenged to create a honey-based dessert that would reflect the history and personality of Orlando. Chef Catherine won the "Orlando Signature Dish" competition with her Honey Nougat Glace\, an Italian meringue with honey\, nougat and fruit confit on a red berries sorbet. Sounds divine!\n\n \n\nNot one to rest on her laurels\, Chef Catherine continues to spread her culinary charms as a private chef in Central Florida\, teaching cooking classes\, working special events\, and baking her French specialties to sell at the weekly markets. Catherine loves her life and work here in Central Florida\, but also looks forward to her annual sojourn back to France to visit family and old friends.
