With projects around the world\, his largest and most prominent work is the $540 million Smithsonian Institute National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington\, D.C. The New York Times called the opening of the center the Cultural Event of the Year in 2016.\n\n\n\nThe city of Winter Park is very fortunate and honored that Adjaye has designed the new Winter Park Library and Events Center\, now under construction. He also designed London's Idea Store\, which is credited with pioneering a new approach to library services.
